Lifelong love for leather
Making all day and loving it!
Scarred for Life is a leather worker from Milwaukee, WI. Her love for leather began at a young age working with her grandfather, who reupholstered vehicles. Simple designs and use of classic stitching techniques are common in her pieces. Most leather items are made
with repurposed materials, every scrap is used and displays her favorite metal clasp while accentuating the raw edge of the hide. 90% of the leather comes from a Milwaukee tannery, which works with boot, glove and chap makers all over the world! Wisconsin has a rich history with leather and we are proud to be celebrating it.
What’s with the name?
One reason I love leather, is its character! My favorite leather is distressed and full of color variations, burns, brands and scars. If you look closely, Jen (the artist) has a scar on her forehead from an epic sword fight in 8th grade. One thing, the sword may have been a plastic boat oar and the oar may have won that one. I celebrate life’s imperfections - that is where character
lies in my eyes. I strive to create lasting accessories that you can love as they change.
